TeachQuest Leaves Beta: A Simpler Classroom Platform With the Customization You Love
TeachQuest Is Out of Beta
Today we are proud to announce that TeachQuest has left beta. The new website and platform rebuild—TeachQuest 3.0—are live for teachers who want a cleaner classroom experience without giving up the deep customization that made TeachQuest their Classcraft alternative of choice.
This release is about clarity. We rebuilt the interface so the path from “I need to run class” to “my students are on a quest” is shorter. At the same time, power users keep the dials they love: custom classes, spells, talents, uploads, shop prices, unlock levels, and classroom rules that bend to your style—not the other way around.
A New Website, Built for Teachers
The public site and the logged-in app share one modern design language. Marketing pages explain what TeachQuest is; the classroom app gets out of the way once you are teaching. Navigation is simpler, the Activity Center and classroom tools sit where you expect them, and the experience is designed to feel at home on a projector, a laptop, or a tablet.
Under the hood this is a full rebuild—not a coat of paint. Modules were rewritten or extensively repaired so everyday flows (rewarding, damaging, raiding, messaging, managing students) feel consistent and reliable.
Simpler Day-to-Day, Same Custom Power
Teachers told us they wanted two things that used to pull in opposite directions: less setup friction and more control. Version 3.0 aims at both.
- Simpler classroom controls — primary teaching actions live in one place, with clearer creation and settings screens.
- Progressive Mode classrooms — unlock features chapter by chapter through journey goals. Advance when your class is ready, skip ahead when you want, or switch to full manual feature control anytime.
- Help Center & guided tutorials — in-app walkthroughs for rewards, damages, curses, and more, so you can learn each tool in context instead of reading a manual first.
- Customization that still goes deep — custom classes with colors, icons, spells, and talent trees; custom asset uploads for raids, characters, backgrounds, pets, potions, awards, and campaign maps; unlock levels and shop prices you define.
Progressive Mode is especially useful for teachers new to RPG classroom management: start with the essentials, earn the next tools as your class masters the basics, and grow into the full system without drowning on day one.
What Changes in the Classroom
Faster start, smoother lessons
Guided tutorials and Progressive Mode mean less “where do I click?” and more “let’s run the encounter.” Students still feel the adventure—levels, teams, raids, pets—while you spend less time hunting settings.
Richer adventures when you are ready
Campaigns now support branching paths, nested campaigns, tagged question pools, music, and smarter unlocks. Raids can be launched as simple worksheet-style runs, with questions managed in place and optional AI story help. Dungeon Spells give solo explorers abilities separate from classroom casting.
Economy and recognition that feel alive
The Trading Post lets students trade characters, backgrounds, pets, potions, and optionally gold—with teacher controls for item types and open hours. Awards can sit in collections that grant titles. Pets have stats, quests, rest cycles, and a happiness mini-game that turns care into a daily habit.
Tools that stay projector-friendly
Activity Center adds Red Light / Green Light and a Randomizer Wheel for weighted spins on the board. Live Poll runs on TeachQuest servers. Curses, random encounters, and potions can cast spells, tying behavior systems together more tightly.
Help When You Need It
The revamped Help Center is built for the way teachers actually learn software: short, guided, and tied to the screen you are on. Open a tutorial, create a practice reward or damage type, and leave when you are confident. You can revisit help anytime from the ? button—support is part of the product, not an afterthought.
What Stayed the Same
TeachQuest is still free for educators. It is still an RPG classroom: teams, classes, spells, HP and mana, raids, and the joy of turning behavior management into a shared adventure. Leaving beta does not mean locking you into a one-size-fits-all game. It means the platform is ready for daily use at scale, with a clearer path for new teachers and unlimited ceiling for veterans.
Thank You
To every teacher who stuck with us through beta, reported bugs, requested features, and ran Halloween, TeachMas, and Festival of Friendship with your classes—thank you. You shaped this rebuild.
If you are just arriving: welcome. Create a classroom, try Progressive Mode, open a guided tutorial, and take the first quest at your own pace.
Teach. Quest. Repeat.—now out of beta.
